The World Famous New York City Plaza Hotel Renovation, June-July 2005

The historic Plaza Hotel, now recognized as a landmark - is located right at Central Park West and has undergone some renovations. The owners recently had a tag sale to sell several architectural items from the rooms which are being renovated. From this sale, we were able to acquire several of the original marble mantels and hearths. As well as the over-mantel mirrors and some decorative iron grills. Take a look at the pictures. Brooklyn Board of Education Building, July 2005

This Board of Education building in Brooklyn, NY was at one time an original Elk's Club. Retrieved from this building is a very unusual oversized yellow sienna marble mantel. Salvaged in excellent condition, just right for a large home or office. Also retrieved from this location, was quite a few mahogany pilasters with decorative gesso caps.

Northern New Jersey Institutional Building with Tennessee Marble Walls - June 2005

From this medical building in New Jersey we acquired at least 200 sheets of Tennessee marble. Very unusual find in excellent condition.

New York City Walk-Up Building with decorative staircase - June 2005

Here is a unique turn of the century staircase with unusual bar and spoke design and decorative newels. We acquired the entire railing (not the steps) and the newel posts.

Tudor House near Long Island Sound, NY

This building in New Rochelle, New York had many decorative elements including entry doors, quartersawn oak mantels, wainscotting, stairways and newel posts. As well as tile fireplace surrounds, iron hardware and and wooden and tin ceiling as well as an original leaded glass built-in cabinet. All ready for the picking at our Scranton, PA location.... Take a look at the pictures...

Ft. Hamilton Theatre, Brooklyn NY - June 2005

This Brooklyn theatre was recently slated for demolition. We retrieved the plaster caryatids, decorative iron balustrades from the stair railing and the large iron and brass theatre chandelier.

New York City Industrial Building - June 2005

Here from another New York City structure are more finds... The green wall tile was all sold... but there were other decorative and structural items removed...

Saint Joseph's Church, Scranton PA - July 2005

"Here's the church... where's the steeple?" Is what the local newspaper wrote concerning this Northeast Pennsylvania church's gothic copper cap when reporting on its recently demolition... Where else? The architecturologists retrieved it and its now stationed at our Scranton location until it finds a new home...
