Olde Good Things, Chicago |

Olde Good Things is
getting ready to
celebrate our one
year anniversary in
Chicago! Well
actually we've been
selling there with
our traveling
showroom truck sales
as well as at local
antique markets for
many years... but
one year ago we
opened our retail
location at 1819 W.
Grand Avenue just
west of downtown
Chicago. We
hope you can come
and shop this unique
showroom with our
many hand-crafted
items as well as
architectural
antique
treasures....
Dealers and
designers are always
welcome too!

Customer Showcase |

This
customer
purchased
this
dolphin
and
shell
motif
terracotta
frieze
which
originally
lined
the
top
of
the
Ellis
Auditorium
in
Memphis
Tennessee.
He
also
purchased
the
edging
stone
as
well
as
the
balconies
from
Olde
Good
Things
and
designed
this
unique
pool-front
courtyard.
This
project
is a
good
example
of
how
recycling
antique
architectural
elements
is
becoming
more
prevalent
in
new
building
construction. |

This
customer
designed a
period
kitchen and
used many
original
details.
They were
able to
utilize the
etched-glass
windows from
this old set
of Victorian
arch-top
doors.
They
re-glazed and
cut them
down and
reworked the
original
frame of the
doors.
Then they
fashioned
them to work
as "shutter"
type
interior
windows
which open
to exterior
clear
windows.
This is a
good example
of how old
architectural
details can
be used in
an original
setting.
